Every parent wants to raise their child to reach their highest intellectual, social and emotional potential. Not only this but to provide their children with a childhood filled with fun, happiness, love and laughter that will create memories for the rest of their lifetime.

A sure way bet to provide this is to spark their imagination through creative play activities.

Nurturing a child’s imagination not only helps advance children’s developmental skills, but it also helps fosters cognitive and social development.  Amongst many benefits, it helps children build self-confidence, increase intellectual growth, practice language skills, and develop social skills. This is because when a child engages in creative play, they are actively experimenting with the social and emotional roles of life.

‘The future is manifest in our childrens’ imagination and perfected in the games they play.’

 ~Chris L. Andreadis

Childhood is about playing, discovering and believing in dreams. Through exploration and free play, we enable the development of creativity. A child with a vivid imagination is happier and more alert and able to cope with life’s ups and downs, and is more likely to grow into a well-adjusted and balanced adult.

Imagination does not become significant until we provide children with the courage and strength to use and develop it. Luckily, the ImaginNation festival is here these September School holiday to help spark your children’s imagination.
