Let’s face it, the hustle and bustle of everyday life mean that quality family time can often take a backseat. These school holidays there’s no better way to reconnect and with your little ones than by cooking up some delicious meals and healthy treats in the kitchen.
Australian Health and Wellbeing statistics say that 1 in 4 Aussie children/adolescents aged 2-17 are considered obese, which means that now more than ever, ensuring that children are well educated when it comes to making decisions around nourishing their body with food is vitally important and there’s no better place to start this education than in the kitchen at home. So, what are you waiting for?
One way you can ensure that you’re reconnecting with the kids and teaching them vitally important food and cooking skills is by encouraging them to get involved in every step of the cooking process – from planning the meals, shopping for ingredients, preparing and cooking.
