Regular exercise can have protective effects against diseases (such as endo), that involve inflammatory processes since it causes an increases anti-inflammatory and antioxidant markers within the body. Pain experienced with endometriosis can cause a guarding mechanism within the body as the body moves into a protective state due to the pain and discomfort experienced. This guarding can affect the pelvic floor, abdominal wall and hip flexors. So resuming exercise you can try Pilates and yoga as it can help these muscles release or stretch them.
