From a nine-night survival event to a costume-themed game the whole family can play together, here’s how to help your kids get the most out of Halloween on Roblox this year, and the safety features working quietly in the background.

If your kids are on Roblox, chances are they’ve probably already mentioned The Hollow. Running from October 22 through November 2, The Hollow is Roblox’s biggest Halloween event yet, bringing together fan-favourite games like 99 Nights in the Forest and DOORS into one spooky platform-wide experience, designed so there’s an entry point for almost every age group.

What’s actually happening

Each night, The Hollow introduces a new Roblox monster, a fresh quest and a haunted hub that keeps changing shape right up to Halloween. Players can navigate mazes, defeat monsters and complete daily quests to earn exclusive rewards, building up to the live finale on October 31.

Who it’s suitable for

The Hollow is available to players with Roblox Select account type or higher, so that means it’s for ages nine and up. This makes it a good time for parents to check their child’s account settings, if they’re unsure which account type they have

Some children will enjoy the suspense and challenge of survival games more than others. We encourage parents to take a look at the games themselves, talk with their child about what they’re interested in, and use the tools available to choose games that feel right for their family.

Special events and limited-time rewards

Part of the appeal of Halloween for kids is the dress-up. The new Hollow Horseman avatar bundle and a range of limited-time seasonal looks are available during the event.

As part of the Hollow celebrations, Roblox is also hosting a run of virtual concerts and in-game music activations across the platform, so parents unfamiliar with Roblox’s virtual concert scene should know the roster spans a few different sounds.

A highlight will be Ken Carson, who is headlining a virtual concert in The Block, which is an always-on, immersive entertainment venue and “Main Stage” experience developed by Roblox.. With the main event taking place on October 30, there will also be additional in-game integrations in The Mimic, Blade Ball and Fisch.

An option for younger kids (and for playing together as a family)

For families with younger children, or parents who simply want to join in, Duck Duck offers a gentler, costume-themed Halloween duck hunt set inside Family Zone, Roblox’s co-play game for parents and kids. It’s a low-pressure way to play together, and along the way, parents get a real look at how age-based accounts and parental controls work in practice.

The bottom line for parents

Halloween on Roblox this year is bigger than ever, but there’s an easy way in at every age, and the tools designed to keep it age-appropriate are built into the platform. A few minutes in Family Zone together is the simplest way for families to enjoy Halloween on the platform and feel confident about what their kids are playing.
