There’s no doubt that the demands of Homeschooling amidst the Coronavirus crisis is a major concern for Australian parents, especially if you are working from home.
Government jurisdiction in some Australian states is for children to be homeschooled in Term 2. In all other states, there is an increasing number of parents opting to keep their kids home during the COVID-19 restrictions.
Supervising children in their schooling during a pandemic whilst being expected to be efficient in your day job has the potential to create a great deal of stress and family conflict.
While the sudden disappearance of kindergarten, preschool primary and secondary school may be destabilising for parents there ARE EASY ways to combat this situation.
To help share his homeschooling advice to parents we are joined today by ‘House Call Doctor’s’ CLINICAL Director Dr Ryan Harvey
Dr Harvey will share his tips on how to maintain a healthy routine for kids and WHILST juggling homeschool during COVID-19 isolation.
We ask Dr Harvey questions including:
- What has been your experience with patients during the COVID-19 pandemic?
- What should parents do if their children suddenly become ill?
- You’ve mentioned previously for parents homeschooling their children that it is important for families to maintain balance and healthy habits.
Why do you think this is so important? - Should families be sticking to a routine when homeschooling?
- Do you think that the sense of complete chaos is more anxiety-provoking for kids than having a schedule?
- Is it important for kids and parents to be getting some outdoor time as part of homeschooling?
- How often should we be sanitising/cleaning workspaces, toys and devices to ensure the home remains a safe place?
