Is it better to work a job or own a business? I would have to respond with a resounding “Yes” in support of owning a business.
Let’s examine the areas of income, autonomy, and potential.
Income
A full-time job will typically require 40+ hours/week and compensate you with a fixed, minimal salary. However, if you own a business, you can flex your hours, and you can set or negotiate the price you are paid as well as determine the size of your clientele.
Autonomy
When you put on the hat of entrepreneur/business owner, you become the boss and navigator of your own path. In other words, you call the shots, and the buck starts/stops with you. On the other hand, if you are an employee, more than likely, you will answer to a CEO or a manager.
Potential
As a business owner, you have freedom and unlimited potential. You can create what you want, collaborate/partner with whom you see fit, stay small or expand, work 4 hours a day or 10 hours/day, take a vacation whenever you desire, and so much more. Employees do not enjoy such liberties.
As a result, if you are looking to prosper, experience flexibility, and enjoy huge success, starting a business would be the most promising route to take.
