While so many Australians look forward to their cheeky break during the Easter holidays, to say last years was a disappointment would be true for so many people. Right before Easter last year, Australia went into lock down. Beaches were closed, we were not allowed to sit down outside, we were only allowed out to “exercise” which left many parents stuck at home trying to entertain the kids.
This year though if all goes well we can make up for that! Here are some of our top picks for family fun this Easter holiday
Ninja Parc
Whether you want to get involved in the action, or you prefer to sit on the sidelines, Ninja Parc is an actioned packed few hours for the family to enjoy.
An Indoor Obstacle Course that has several locations around Australia, Ninja Parc “inspires a world of movement” with obstacles that challenge you with hanging, swinging, climbing, jumping, rolling and falling and they are all padded for safety. It’s fun, it exerts energy and it is a memorable experience.
You can either show up and get a 1 hour casual pass. Otherwise Ninja Parc also runs a school holiday program where the kids can play for 3 hours. It is supervised so you can hang out if you like or head off an enjoy some “me” time.
The Easter Show
There is no doubt that the Easter show is a crowd pleaser. There is something for everyone, and as long as you can handle crowds it is a big day out that is sure to leave the kids exhausted (and entertained!).
This show has everything, from rides, to dog and cat shows, cow competitions, horse demonstrations, fashion shows, music, haunted houses and everything in between. If you want to entertain your kids for the day, while also being entertained yourself the Easter Show is a must do.
Stand-up Paddle Boarding
Inflatable stand-up paddle boards, such as those from Red Paddle Co are amazing for families, as they are easy to store, easy to transport and they are loads of fun. Imagine trying to carry all of your things, your kids things, the food, the water and a paddle board? No thank you. These ones have a back pack so they are way easier.
Stand- Up paddle Boarding is a very fun activity for the whole family. It allows you to master a different skill, explore the great outdoors by the water, go on an adventure and even discover hidden water ways. This Easter holidays, find yourself a nice spot, bring a picnic and check out the area by the water. It really is a beautiful way to spend the day
See the animals
A day at the Zoo or the Aquarium is a beautiful and fun filled way to spend time with the kids. There are some beautiful zoos in Australia, from the iconic Taronga Zoo, the Melbourne Zoo, the Australia Zoo and even the Zambi Wildlife Retreat who rescue animals from the entertainment industry. There is also Sea Life, Under Water World and its of cool aquariums where you can see marine life, watch them feed the dugongs, see sharks and rays and lots of other cool things.
The best thing about them, aside from seeing the animals, is that you can learn about them, what they eat, how they live, the threat that humans are posing to their environment, and of course what we can do about it to help save them.
Take a ferry to a picnic location
Finally, Australia has some very beautiful cities and lots of places that are surrounded by water. Make a plan to bring the family on the Ferry to go to a picnic location (or even the zoo!). It’s a lot of fun for the kids, it is fairly adorable and it is a beautiful way to see the city that you live in.
