With so many cleaning products on the market, it can be overwhelming deciding which ones to use.

There is literally a whole aisle in the supermarket dedicated to hundreds of different cleaning products. Most of these products work well, however they are usually full of harsh chemicals that can be hazardous to the health of your family.

Did you know you can avoid that aisle all together and still have a clean house?

That’s right, there are a number of natural products that you can use to create your own cleaning agents. And best of all – you probably already have most of the ingredients in your pantry!

Chemical-free cleaning is a lot safer for your family and also for the surfaces that you are using it on.

Hack your home cleaning with the best natural cleaning products
  1. Vinegar

Vinegar is an amazing product to use for cleaning and it is super cheap as well!

Vinegar can be used on a range of different surfaces to create a shiny and clean finish.

Mixing vinegar with bicarb soda to create a fizzing solution is a great way to clean your toilet. Once the fizzing has stopped, give it a quick brush and then flush. You will be left with a clean, white toilet ready for its next use.

Vinegar with lemon juice is a great surface cleaner for your bench tops and floors. Mix vinegar, lemon juice and water together to create your solution. Pour it into a spray bottle and you have yourself a spray and wipe solution. The lemon not only gives it a fresh scent but it is also an antibacterial agent.

  1. Bi Carb

Bi carb soda is such an underrated product. It is so versatile and is ridiculously cheap.

If you have stubborn marks on the inside of your fry pans and saucepans, simply put them on the stove to boil with water and a couple of teaspoons of bi carb soda. Once it has started boiling give it a quick scrap with a spatula and then rinse and wipe with some soapy water. This removes the stubborn burn marks from them.

Bi carb can also be used as a paste with a small amount of water. Create a thick paste that can be painted onto clothing stains, bench top stains and bathroom grime. Let the paste sit for a few minutes before wiping off or putting in the wash. The stains will be greatly reduced after just once use. You may need to repeat a couple of times for more stubborn stains.

  1. Lemon

Lemon is a natural disinfectant and antibacterial agent. It helps to remove germs and also has a whitening effect to help remove stains. Lemon with salt is a great way to clean your wooden chopping boards. Simply sprinkle salt on the board and then with half a lemon rub it into the board before rinsing. This removes germs and stains from the boards.

Lemon added to your vinegar or bi carb mixes will help provide a fresh scent and help with the stain removal process.

  1. Essential oils

Essential oils are a great addition to any natural cleaning agent. Certain oils such as lemon, orange, tea tree and eucalyptus oil not only smell amazing but also have a natural antibacterial effect.

There are a range of other oils that can also be used for their fresh, lovely aroma. A couple of drops in your mop water will have your home smelling inviting. Read more about safe essential oils for your family here.

These are just a few of the many natural products that you can use to create your own safe cleaning products at home. Not only are you doing your health a favour by creating your own cleaning products, it’s also a lot better for the environment and your bank balance!

So next time you run out of one of your cleaning products, instead of going straight to the cleaning aisle, stop at the pantry aisle and grab yourself some bicarb and vinegar!
