Don’t know about you, but I’m a firm believer in the saying that “When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade”

As we stay home to stay safe, what better opportunity to keep the family active, and teach the kids valuable life skills than to connect with nature through Gardening.

To help talk to us about this today, we’re joined by Charlie Albone. TV celebrity gardener and landscape designer better known for co-hosting Selling Houses Australia for their last 13 seasons and recently joined Channel 7’s Better Homes and Gardens.

Charlie is also the ambassador for Richgro, a family-owned garden products business that has been helping to bring Australian backyards and gardens to life to more than 100 years.

When Charlie is not busy getting his hand in the dirt he’s a busy family man, husband to Juliet Love interior stylist, and Dad to two boys Hartford and Leo.

We ask Charlie questions including:

  1. In times of stress and anxiety spending time outdoors in the garden will almost always help improve and lift our mood. Something that a lot of parents and kids are needing at the moment. Love to know, what are your thoughts on this?
  2. It’s been said before, and in your words, “That you like to think of the garden as an outdoor classroom – it’s tactile, it’s ever-changing, there are lessons to be learnt in the smallest details” Can you tell us a little more about your philosophy?
  3. Where did your passion for the great outdoors come from? Do your two boys share this with you?
  4. What lessons do you think gardening can teach children?
  5. What are some of the health benefits of gardening?
  6. Can you suggest what we should plant and or grow in winter?
  7. What is it that makes Richgro garden products’ company stand out from the rest?
  8. What products do you recommend parents consider buying from their range?
