We are currently in a visionary passage from July’s Aquarius full moon right through to the full moon in August on the 23rd. As we transition between two Aquarius Full Moons, we can work with the open-minded qualities of Aquarius to ponder the bigger life questions of why we are where we are in this human experience and what new possibilities and potential could be out there for us.
Generally we may tend to think about these kinds of questions as we enter a new year, but this midpoint of 2021, supported by Aquarian energy gives us the opportunity to take another look.
So what can we do to create a modern day ‘vision quest’ for ourselves to expand beyond who we currently are and what we have known?
A vision quest is the generic english term traditionally referencing the ritual of a rite of passage generally undertaken by those coming of age, performed in many different native cultures. These native cultures are from all over the world and all have slightly different names, processes, reasons and rituals. This may involve fasting, sacred ceremony and spending days alone at sacred sites in nature to allow the young person to request a vision from the spirit world, “one that will help them find their purpose in life, their role in a community, and how they may best serve the People. Dreams or visions may involve natural symbolism – such as animals or forces of nature – that require interpretation by Elders.”
By focusing on the questions we might have about our lives and direction over the next month, we can set the intention to undertake a personal vision quest, and receive answers for a path forward or a decision we may have been struggling with.
A modern day vision quest, instead of being housed at a sacred site can still take place in your home, and you may see symbolic messages on number plates on your way to work, or overhear a conversation at the watercooler that gives you an answer instead of in nature. Although it’s still good to be on the lookout for messengers in the back garden or local park.
When we set the intention and put our questions out to the universe, they will be answered in some way, shape or form. It’s up to us to use our conscious awareness of everything in our reality that is interacting with us, to keep an eye out and interpret what messages are being delivered to us.
Although the time between two Aquarius full moons is a great time to embark on a vision quest, we can do them at any time. Regularly throwing our questions out to the universe means we can ignite personal growth, expansion and tap into non-physical support to pull answers out of the quantum field. However if we don’t ever ask, we’ll never receive anything and continue life in the status quo.
