It can take months to years to master toilet training with children urinating several times per day and the code browns that have you questioning how you should actually start the clean-up process.

So, let’s talk how to clean up the dirty undies, how we remove the urine smell from underwear, clothes and especially from the toilet grout.

Look toilet training can be time consuming and often accidents happen at the most inconvenient time.  Sometimes it comes as such a surprise, thinking that their child had already graduated from toilet training and therefore parents leave the house unprepared.

When I surveyed parents, their main concerns were the mess, the smell and how to wash everything without throwing it all out!  Look, we probably at some stage have all had the thought or even actually thrown out the code brown undies that look like there is no hope in cleaning. We may have bought several packets of cheap undies or even gone down the path of disposable pull ups simply to avoid the clean-up process, the lingering smell, sheet changes and or the associated long-term stains.

Let’s firstly start the discussion with a list of laundry essential to get parents successfully equipped for toilet training season.

Poo is made up of 75% water and 25% a stinky combination of fiber, bacteria, cells and mucous.  Just like with any stain, early intervention gets the best results!

  • dispose of solids into the toilet

How to get rid of the urine smell out of grout

Many parents complain of the urine stench that gets trapped in and around the toilet area, despite cleaning, scrubbing and even using harsh chemicals. I hear constantly parents complaining that nothing they have tried works and the smell lingers for years! Well, there is an ecofriendly solution to this offensive and often socially embarrassing problem.

  • The Norwex mattress spray is made up of live enzymes that target organic matter such as urine and is designed to eliminate the bacteria causing odour
  • It eats organic residue on anything porous
  • Spray on grout
  • And that’s it, smell is gone!
