LEGO LAUNCHES MUSIC VIDEO MAKER EXPERIENCE FOR KIDS
Musical creativity develops confidence, which is incredibly important in the lives of children.
New research from LEGO and Universal Music Group reveals that 89% of parents say music helps build creative skills, while 83% say it helps build confidence.
The majority of children aged 5-12 say music also helps them connect with their friends with over half of children aged 6-10 confirming they listen to music every day.
With the goal of providing a safe universe where children can traverse the world of physical and digital play, LEGO has launched a brand new playful and innovative music video maker experience, LEGO VIDIYO. The platform lets children experiment with play and music – a powerful combination that’s fundamental to their development, extending their ability to connect with other people emotionally and creatively.
LEGO VIDIYO helps children dream big by directing, producing, starring in, and safely sharing their own music videos through offering a creative, safe and social music experience. Through the creative power of LEGO and Universal Music Group, families and children can access artist tracks from across the globe in a new and innovative way.
Thanks to LEGO VIDIYO, rising Australian rapper, Baker Boy, and iconic rock band INXS, have also just teamed up to create a fun dance video for the band’s global hit single, New Sensation – to encourage kids to get moving and making. The hit single is also available on the VIDIYO app for kids to direct their own music videos to.
Fans inspired by Baker Boy and the New Sensation music video can take part in their very own dance challenge at home – a great way for children to get creative these school holidays. There is an epic dance tutorial led by Baker Boy available on LEGO social channels for families to follow along to at home.
“VIDIYO is the kind of app I wish I had when I was a kid. I always loved dancing and performing, and something like this would have made my dreams feel more like a reality and help bring my creative visions to life,” Baker Boy said.
“I hope VIDIYO inspires kids across the country to dream big and know that with a little bit of dance, anything is possible.”
