Daylight savings ends Easter Sunday, April 4th for families in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, and the Australian Capital Territory. To help support you and your children’s sleep transition, we thought we’d share 3 top tips with a throwback to an interview from 2018.
Here our Founder, Rachael interviews Catherine Bendeich, Founder of Dreamwinks and a Qualified Sleep and Feeding Consultant.Catherine provides a step by step guide to help get your baby or toddler in a routine before Sunday.
For our families in Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia, these tips are just helpful as the daylight hours become shorter as we move into the cooler months.
The transition at the start and finish of daylight saving is far easier if your child is already in a routine. If your baby or toddler isn’t in a routine, there is still time to get organized. At the very least have a consistent bedtime for the next few days.
We ask Catherine 3 key questions
- What are the steps we need to make the transition from daylight savings smooth for our children?
- If we have missed the start of the transition phase, as per your guide, what can we do to catch up?
- If parents have children that are already waking up early, this will mean they will be waking even earlier with the end of daylight savings. What do you suggest we can do to help with early mornings?
