These Easter-themed crafts are not only fun and festive—they’re a chance to play, bond, and create keepsakes your little ones will be proud of. So gather the family, take a mini-break, and dive into these playful activities together!

🐰 SOME-BUNNY LOVES YOU CARD – A Handprint Hug in Disguise (Ages 2+)

These cute personalised cards are a heartfelt way for little ones to spread love to family and friends this Easter.

You will need:

  • White paint
  • Pink paint or pink texta
  • Black texta
  • Coloured paper

Steps:

  1. Paint your palm, index finger, and ring finger with white paint.
  2. Press your painted hand onto the coloured paper – your palm becomes the bunny’s face and fingers form the ears.
  3. Use the pink paint or texta to add cheeks or a nose.
  4. Draw eyes, whiskers, and a smile with a black texta.
  5. Finish with the pun: “Some-bunny loves you!”

🌈 CRACKING GOOD SENSORY BIN – A Rainbow of Calm (Ages 1.5+)

You will need:

  • Rainbow rice (or plain white rice)
  • Plastic eggs (dollar store find!)
  • Egg carton
  • Scoops or small cups

Steps:

  1. Fill a shallow tray with rainbow rice.
  2. Add plastic eggs and egg cartons.
  3. Encourage your child to scoop, pour, shake, and sort.

You will need:

  • Air-dry clay (store-bought or homemade recipe below)
  • Rolling pin
  • Knife or egg-shaped cookie cutter
  • Paint and glitter
  • String (optional, for hanging)

Homemade Clay Recipe:

  • 1 cup cornflour (cornstarch)
  • 2 cups bicarbonate of soda (baking soda)
  • 1.5 cups water

Steps:

  1. Combine ingredients in a saucepan, stir over low heat until the mix thickens to a mashed potato consistency.
  2. Let cool, then knead and roll out.
  3. Cut out egg shapes and imprint patterns with household items (forks, leaves, etc.).
  4. Let air dry for 48 hours (avoid oven-drying to prevent cracks).
  5. Once dry, decorate with paint and glitter.

You will need:

  • Large cardboard cut-out of an Easter Bunny
  • Aluminium foil balls (aka “Easter-oids”)

Steps:

  1. Cut out an Easter Bunny shape and draw a big mouth.
  2. Stand the cut-out upright or lean against a wall.
  3. Toss foil balls aiming for the bunny’s mouth.
  4. Make it harder by stepping further back each round!

Developmental benefits: Gross motor skills, coordination, and teamwork.

 

🔹 EGG-STRAORDINARY MAGIC ART – Hidden Designs Revealed (Ages 3+)

Create Easter egg art with a surprise twist using watercolor resist techniques.

You will need:

  • White crayon
  • White paper
  • Watercolour paints
  • Ribbon (optional)

Steps:

  1. Use the white crayon to draw an egg outline and zigzag patterns on white paper.
  2. Paint over the entire sheet with watercolours.
