Depending which Australian State or Territory you live in, we each experience a variety of intensities to temperature and humidity during summer. Irrespective of your exposure to heat conditions, we each need to drink water to replenish the lost fluid from sweat.

We also need enough water in our systems to help our bodies work efficiently and maintain good health.

Today we share inspirational tips how you can keep your little ones hydrated during summer, and throughout the year, which of course can be a challenge for many parents with fussy children who just won’t seem to drink water.

Joining us is our special guest, Chef Kate Stephens from Guardian Childcare & Education.

We ask Kate questions including:

  1. As a Mum and a Chef in the Early Childhood Education and Care industry, have you found it challenging to keep children hydrated during summer?
  2. What are some fun ways you use at your childcare centre to encourage children to drink water?
  3. How can parents create a routine to help their children stay hydrated?
  4. For children who are fussy and refuse water, do you have any helpful tips?
  5. How do you teach children about nutrition / a balanced diet?
  6. What are fun / creative ways to get children to eat fruit and vegetables?
  7. How can parents help their children embrace good food habits and help create a healthy relationship to eating?
