Bluey Book Reads are back—and this time, they’re opening the storybook with a little help from their friends, Elmo and Cookie Monster, on Sesame Street.
In a brand-new series of Bluey Book Reads, even more beloved Bluey storybooks are brought to life like never before. And in a heartwarming first, Sesame Street favourites Elmo and Cookie Monster launch the series in the show’s first-ever real-life read.
The special video sees Elmo and Cookie Monster receive a surprise package all the way from Brisbane – the home of Bluey – and inside is the lift-the-flap board book ‘What Games Should We Play?’
Cookie Monster takes the lead, reading the story aloud to three-and-a-half year old Elmo, as they explore all of Bluey and Bingo’s favourite games. Full of laughter, surprise, and playful curiosity, the collab is a delightful meeting of two of the world’s most iconic preschool shows.

The episode kicks off a star-studded second season of Bluey Book Reads, which also features celebrity narrators like Rose Byrne, Helena Bonham Carter, Elijah Wood, Michael Sheen and more.
But it’s Elmo and Cookie Monster’s joyful appearance that has fans—big and small—smiling.
Bluey’s Book Reads celebrate the joy of reading and features some of the most popular Bluey story books, and fans can discover two brand-new book reads every month.
Meanwhile, over on Sesame Street, there’s been another heartwarming celebrity friend drop by the street.
Fresh off her latest Grammy win, chart-topping artist SZA dropped by to sing a brand-new original song, Be Kind to Me, Be Kind to You. Known for her soulful hits like Good Days and Snooze, SZA joined Elmo, Abby Cadabby, and Gabrielle to share a message about kindness, generosity, and self-love.
Before the song, SZA also showed the gang how to make their own gratitude jars – a creative and reflective way to encourage children to practice daily thankfulness.
SZA explains “A gratitude jar is a place where you can put words or pictures of things you’re grateful for … Sometimes when you feel sad or have other really big feelings, it can be easy to forget the things we’re thankful for, so the jar helps us to remember.”
The segment blends music, mindfulness, and Sesame Street’s signature warmth in a way that’s both uplifting and memorable.

SZA isn’t the first celebrity to visit Sesame Street of course, with celebrity friends including Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts, Ed Sheeren, John Legend, Alicia Keyes, Michelle Obama and Whoopi Goldberg all visiting the famous street.
From Bluey’s backyard to the neighbourhood of Sesame Street, Elmo and friends continue to inspire and educate young minds.
