The stay at home era has meant children, for the short term, have had to stay in and miss out on a lot of the fun stuff they are used to doing.

This has meant, is that parents have had to be resourceful in finding new and exciting means to keep the kids entertained and engaged whilst being home and safe with you.

Our special guest, Belinda Agostino a busy Mum and Co-creator of Ready Set Dance, talks to us today about the benefits of movement for preschoolers whilst they’re home in isolation.

We ask Belinda questions including:

  1. Why is movement, and dance, in particular, so important for preschoolers home in isolation?
  2. What are the benefits of dance for not just children, but parents as well?
  3. When creating the show, how did you ensure you keep the preschooler’s attention focused and what can parents learn from this that they can adapt to their everyday lives?
  4. The TV program introduces preschoolers to the world of dance and they learn a few positive dispositions including three C’s: confidence, coordination and creativity. Why did you choose these particular virtues to teach to children, why are they so important for children to learn?
  5. Preschoolers also learn about enthusiasm, independence, concentration, persistence, cooperation. Why did you choose these particular virtues to teach to children, why are they so important for children to learn?
  6. Why is it important to develop a children’s show based on this type of education?
  7. What have you been doing through the COVID-19 era to help keep preschoolers engaged?
  8. How has the show been received amongst preschoolers and parents?
