For many, the idea of self-isolation with the ability to stay home is a dream come true. No drop-off and pick from childcare, kinder preschool, or primary school. No peak hour traffic and let’s face it, you can stay in your PJ’s all day if you like.

But, when people are stuck indoors for long periods of time, especially with young children, it can increase the risk of exposure to safety hazards in and around the home.

This is something we need to take into consideration in view of our current situation when let’s face it, we are all busier than normal juggling working from home combined with the extra stress and responsibility of supervising, entertaining and homeschooling the kids.

To help bring this important topic to light and share expert information and advice on how we can make our homes ‘Kidsafe” we welcome our special guest, Melanie Courtney, Kidsafe Victoria CEO.

We ask Melanie questions including:

  1. What are the stats – how many children get injured from preventable injuries each year?
  2. What are some of the top safety hazards to be aware of in your home that can cause injuries to children?
  3. What can parents do to prevent these injuries?
  4. What work is Kidsafe doing in conjunction with the Government to make a positive change?
