Plantoys are 2024 & 2023 winners of the Australian Toy Association (ATA) environmental and sustainablity Award two years in a row since the Award was introduced in 2023 setting the brand apart as a leader in eco toy manufacturing! At PlanToys, sustainability, safety and child development are top priorities. Plantoys design internationally award winning quality & long lasting sustainably made wooden toys for babies, toddlers, pre-school children, special needs as well as brain training games for aged care. By focusing on child safety and age milestones during design and production, Plantoys wooden toys enhance both physical and cognitive development. With a strong mission to create a sustainable world, PlanToys intentionally considers every single step of production in order to minimize environmental impact. This mission is implemented through the three pillars of PlanToys business, also known as our “Sustainable Way.” This includes Sustainable Material, Sustainable Manufacturing and Sustainable Mind. Plantoys mission is better kids, better world through sustainable play. In 1981 Plantoys were ground breakingly the first company to manufacture wooden toys using reclaimed rubberwood. Rubber trees are farmed on plantations for latex production but only have a 25 year lifecycle (then cut down as ‘waste’ wood) PlanToys use these trees to make long lasting wooden toys from these plantations and re-plant trees. Plantoys have not cut a single tree from our natural forests (which FSC certified wooden toys programs do ‘sustainably.’ Plantoys even use the saw dust ‘waste’ everything down to the root of the tree in their manufacturing process to ensure minimum waste. Since 2004, PlanToys planted 34,000 trees, absorbing 323 tCO₂e /year.

Circularity: Sustainability is at the heart of everything PlanToys do. Toys are designed with the environment in mind, and they offer services like toy repair and rental to keep playtime eco-friendly. Big efforts to reduce toys ending up in landfill and producing spare parts for consumers for free to keep toys out of landfill.
