50 Years of Jollettes Gymnastics –
The founder of Jollettes Gymnastics, Nelleck Jol, started Women’s Gymnastics in Western Australia in 1953. She is affectionately known as the Australian “Mother of Gymnastics” having coached thousands of children and youths, subsequently sending seven gymnasts to represent Australia at five Olympic Games.
In 1991 Nelleck Jol retired and was awarded life membership with Gymnastics Australia for her services to the sport and promoting fitness in children. In 2005 she also received an Order of Australia, again for services to the sport.
Her daughter Renay Jol took over Jollettes Gymnastics and continues her mother’s mission to give students the opportunity to experience this exciting sport and the benefits it has to offer.
