Whip up a batch of homemade scones in less than 15 minutes thanks to the quick-cooking Airfryer. It’s important to eat well to stay well, so these scones have a healthy addition of blueberries for a good dose of vitamins and antioxidants. They also give the scones an extra burst of natural sweetness – yum!

Prep time: 5 mins

Cooking time: 8 mins

Makes about 9

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup self-raising flour, plus extra for dusting
  • 1 tablespoon caster sugar
  • 20g butter, cold, chopped
  • 100ml milk
  • ¼ cup blueberries
  • Jam, to serve

Method:

  1. Put flour into a large bowl and stir in sugar. Rub in butter using fingertips until fine crumbs form. Pour in milk and stir using a butter knife, mixing to form a soft shaggy dough. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. Add blueberries and knead briefly and gently with your hands until just smooth. Use your hand to press dough out evenly into a disc, approx. 2cm thick.
  2. Using a knife dusted in flour, cut dough into 9 equally sized rectangular pieces.
  3. Line the basket of the Philips XXL Airfryer with a sheet of baking paper and place dough pieces inside, in a single layer.
  4. Set the temperature to 200C and time to 7 minutes. Cook until golden brown. Set aside to cool for 5 minutes then serve with jam.
