Daylight savings is finally here which means brighter, sunnier evenings and long dinners outdoors. This calls for taking full advantage of gorgeous spring produce and adding fresh, vibrant pops of colour to our meals.

These days we can get most ingredients all year round, but buying seasonally generally means we’re buying better quality and tastier food – and often buying locally too. Over the next few months you can expect to see an abundance of peas, cucumbers, zucchini, asparagus, spring onions, basil, mint, lettuce, spinach, radish, lemons, limes and strawberries.

As always, our top tip for taking full advantage of seasonal produce is keeping a well-stocked pantry of staples. When we think about spring we think simple pasta dishes, warm salads, frittatas and quick one pan dishes.
