This new family-friendly version of Lewis Carroll’s masterpiece invites you to fall down the rabbit hole again
Alice and her adventures in Wonderland have captured the imaginations of practically every generation since Lewis Carroll introduced them to the world 150 years ago; the stories have been adapted for countless films, TV series and live performances.
This new, short and sharp Australian stage version will introduce Wonderland to a whole new generation while inviting older fans to get reacquainted with all the unforgettable characters: the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts, the Cheshire Cat and more.
It has its world premiere at the Riverside Theatres as part of Sydney Festival, before embarking on an Australian tour.
Multi award-winning playwright Mary Anne Butler has faithfully adapted Alice’s stories into a fast-paced hour of entertainment and wonder, capturing all the wit, adventure and magic of Wonderland.
One of Australia’s most celebrated rising acting stars, Dubs Yunupingu stars as Alice. This marks the first time that an Indigenous actor has taken on the role, adding a new and distinctively Australian dimension to the story. She’s joined by three wonderfully versatile actors who’ll step into a broad range of roles: Alex Packard, Ebony Vagulans and Drew Wilson.
The production is directed by Cristabel Sved, who has worked at every major theatre company in Sydney.
