Adelaide’s New Year’s Eve 2018
It’s time to start planning for the biggest party in town! The City of Adelaide’s FREE New Year’s Eve Party in Elder Park and on the Riverbank will be the place to gather with family and friends! This year brings another jam-packed program with live music, family entertainment and two spectacular firework displays presented by HomeStart.
HomeStart Fireworks at 9pm and Midnight
The first display hits the sky just after sundown at 9pm – perfect for families with little party-goers. We’ve been to this the past couple of years and the kids loved it (plus it was an adventure to all travel together on the bus, to the city and back, with a group of friends).
The final spectacular show at midnight, follows the countdown into the New Year.
Keep the little ones entertained in the dedicated Kids Zone, where the whole family can enjoy dazzling performances and carnival fun. There will also be roving performers entertaining the crowds.
Elder Park’s historic Rotunda will be bathed in light, providing a stunning platform for this year’s incredible live music acts, including the brilliant Antipodean Rock Collective – featuring members from legendary Australian bands Spiderbait, Jet, Powderfinger, You Am I and The Wrights.
Other amazing bands and acts include:
- Max Savage & the West End Dirty Thirty
- Alana Jagt & the Monotremes
- China Roses
- Tim Whitt
- Mudra Dance
- and the City of Adelaide Pipe Band.
Food & Drink
There will be over 20 food vendors to satisfy your hunger – select from a huge variety of global cuisines on offer or feel free to bring your own picnic basket full of goodies, including reusable water bottles.
This year’s event will be straw-free and all food packaging from vendors will be compostable and can be placed in the green organics bins onsite. Water stations will also be set up around the event offering free drinking water for you to fill up your reusable water bottles. To pledge your support for going straw-free share the hashtag #StrawFreeADL.
There will be dedicated licenced areas to enjoy a drink. Please note for the comfort of guests this is a non-smoking event. No BYO alcohol.
