We all know trampolining is fun. It’s hard to keep a huge smile from spreading as you jump around in a state of euphoric fun.

But did you know there are also some serious health benefits you can gain from regular trampoline-based activities?

If pounding the pavement or a strenuous gym session isn’t your idea of a good time, don’t worry – ten minutes of energetic bouncing can actually have similar health benefits to a 30-minute run.

Here are some other great benefits you can count on:

1. Heart Health

Increasing your heart rate with just 10 minutes of bouncing a day strengthens the muscles that are needed for a healthy cardiovascular system.

If you’ve ever timed yourself jumping, you’ll know that just 10 minutes jumping provides an excellent work-out – and regular jumping only increases your fitness levels, so you can go longer!

If a happy heart isn’t a good reason to bounce, we don’t know what is!

2. Increased Energy Levels

As you bounce, more oxygen is carried around your body in the bloodstream. This instantly increases your energy levels and makes you feel more alert.

So get your body moving, and kick-start your day!

3. Co-ordination Boost

Many of us don’t realise it, but jumping on a trampoline takes a certain level of co-ordination [cue the feeling of pride for those of us who have ever been called ‘un-coordinated’].

The combination of jumping high, maintaining balance and concentrating on executing the move helps to improve your motor skills and coordination – all in one go.

4. Joint Protection

A bouncy, soft trampoline mat acts as a great absorption pad. Taking all the force when you land, it prevents the jarring of ankles, knees and your spine.

5. Strong Bones

Powerful jumping means your legs work hard to push you upwards over and over. This small amount of stress actually helps encourage your bones to increase in density and reduce the chance of developing osteoporosis.

And there are so many more health benefits of regular exercise on a trampoline – we’ve just scraped the surface of the health, fitness, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits of trampolines.

In the lead up to the festive season, we want to inspire you to get the kids outside & active.
